5 Books You Must Read To Your Toddler

Reading Dr. Seuss at 7 months old

Connor’s always been a fan of books. He enjoys sitting on the floor looking through a board book, and even though he can’t read yet, he is having a great time. Over the past few months I’ve been working on expanding my  little bookworm’s library. Here are five books that Connor can’t get enough of!

First 100 Words by Roger Priddy (Board Book) $4.99 at Target

I love how simple yet informative this book is. Connor likes to point at pictures and I tell him what it is. This book is perfect for a little one who is learning what things are. The brightly colored background behind the pictures makes this book exciting for little eyes.

Sophie The Giraffe Book- Sophie’s Busy Day $5.99 At Toys R Us

As a Sophie fan, I couldn’t resist this book! You’ll follow along with Sophie’s action packed day with a variety of friends. Touch and feel books add extra excitement, and Connor loves to feel the different textures. This book has just enough words to keep a 17 month old’s attention.

Is Your Mama A Llama? By Deborah Guarino $6.99 At Barnes & Noble

This books is very nostalgic for me; I had to get a copy for Connor. Connor loves when I read it to him with different voices and he loves the pictures. Its fun to see how Lloyd the llama learns about other animals’ mothers. I see my son loving this book for years to come!

Sherlock Holmes in the Hound of the Baskervilles: A Babylit Sounds Primer $7.00 at Walmart

I absolutely adore the BabyLit brand books! Sherlock Holmes has unique artwork and even though there aren’t many words, its perfect for your little one who loves sounds. Connor thinks its hilarious when I get really into making the sounds!

babytown-peekaboo-coverPeekaboo! $4.97 at

Any parent knows that toddlers love to look at themselves in the mirror! Connor giggles when he sees himself and likes to look back at the mirror while we’re reading this book.

What are your toddler’s favorite books?

  1. Glad Connor likes books! I have never heard of any of these as my kids are grown. They loved the collection of Dr. Suess books that we still have that will be passed on someday to the grandchildren to enjoy!
